A Made-Up Story from Maddie and Alex
A Made-Up Story
Since I've come home I have been cleaning out drawers and giving away or throwing away old detritus. In one desk drawer I came across an old note book and stumbled on a story that my grandkids, Maddie and Alex, wrote on the ferry home from the Butterfly Gardens near Victoria. Here goes:Once upon a time there was a butterfly family. They went to the Butterfly Gardens to see how their friends are doing. Their friend's names were - Joey, George, Betty, Veronica, Alex and Emma plus Ringo and Paul (the last two were my additons).
The butterfly family stayed to visit their friends all day but they go hungry and had to leave their friends so they could go and eat hamburgers.
After they left the other butterflies threw a party and sang "who let the dogs out, who, who, who." At the party the butterflies ate chips, cheezies and popcorn. After that they felt sick.
The owners of the Butterfly Gardens made all the drink alka seltzer which they did but they didn't like it. When they felt better they went outside and saw some sheep who were blue.
The blue sheep made a sound like this "bloooo, ooo, ooo". That was because they also had too much wine and were drunk. As a result they had to go to the loo frequently and they messed up the field where the wild things lived. Plus, when the wild turkeys came home they got cross because they had to get a broom and dust pan to clean up their home.
Meanwhile the butterfly family finished their hamburgers, flew home and went to bed.
And the notes were illustrated with smiling butterflies!
