The Path to my Casita

I walk to and from school every day and each day there is another surprise I see in the forest before I get to the road.  Here are some of my favourites.
This a ficus tree I pass each day on the forest path from my house to the road

A Blue Motmot singing on the way home one day

One of the many sunsets from the porch of my casita

This is on the final walkway down to my house

Not surprisingly I am already getting nostalgic about my life here and there is still almost a week to go before I leave.  I will miss this place, the three phases of the sunset each night, the forest, the birds, the people.  As I get ready to head north I do look forward to being home, sleeping in my own bed and, of course, the spring garden lust is upon me. But, it this is a very special (and biologically unique) place hidden up at the end of a dirt road in the Cloud Forest.  One last hike planned for Sunday after Meeting to head to the original reserve; who know what I will see.....
