The Travels Begin

 Leaving Saturna in August?  I must be out of my mind - even with the smoke and the drought the island is a secret paradise and my tomatoes are ripe...sigh...

But my bags are packed (extra heavy thanks to all those who donated their old ipads for  me to bring to Mozambique for Sierra's portable ultra sound devices and the 2 jugs of #1 Maple Syrup Sierra requested from Costco) . 

Needless to say after carefully packing I had to reorganize my bags at the airport - on the floor in front of " Priority Boarding" just like a college student leaving home for the first time- to have the ipads go through the airport scanning devices.  Oh, and because it was the first time post knee surgery I went through security and binged.  My new knee rings bells so I was pulled aside and patted down.  

So here I am with two of my bags (there is also another), mask and Shield. I can't see worth shit but I'm safe, at least in Vancouver.
