Boat trip
Golfo Dulce
We were taken on a boat trip today. Saw leopard rays, sting rays, green turtles, fish, lots of black headed vultures, scarlet macaws cackling above, frigate birds, brown pelicans (a very strange bird is a pelican, his beak holds more than his belly can...) and an orange-chinned Parakeet who caged and chirped at us during lunch.
Went to a botanical garden developed by two expats who have lived in the area for 35 years. Saw plants I have only read or herd about..my favourite is the Cannonball tree. Huge pods and scented flowers that bloom on the lower part of th trunk, below the leaves. Couroupita guianensis is the Latin name (thanks google)
We went swimming in water as warm as the air.
