Punta Macaneta

 We went to the beach!!!!

Here we are walking from the car to the boat.  Sierra in the lead with Dr. Amy and Khi behind her and me with my crutch trying to keep up.

We rented a motor boat that is docked at the local fishing village, just south of Maputo

We spent the days with the French Connection: Laura and two of her sons.
Back story is Laura is a Mom from Khi's school (Ecole Francais du Maputo). She is from Paris, married to Egar, a most gorgeous Angolan-Parisian who is the Project Manager for the LNG project in northern Mozambique.  Laura is an artist and amazing mom and baker of french pastries (OMG) And yes, we spoke mostly French. Rather Sierra and Khi did.  I understood and tried but am so rusty because I don't use it much anymore.  Sigh....

This is Khi and his best friend, Semma, note, both are missing the front two teeth

This is Punta Maceneta. endless white sand beach, nobody there and Perth across the Indian Ocean

This is really Playing In the Sand!

The older brother, Elias, and friend

Besties

And then we returned home and got a taste of the real Mozambique

The fishermen had arrived and fish was everywhere

Chickens were for sale on the road along with fruit and veggies

The photo below is a typical market, found everywhere along the roads outside Maputo. Women generally are the ones selling and buying although kids often help too.

And here we are at the end of the day
